WHAT IS E-WHEELING?

E-wheeling is a term used to describe a leisure activity enjoyed by those riding electronic skateboards, one-wheels, electronic unicycles (EUC's), scooters, and bikes. On this site however, we will focus primarily on the electric skateboard; aka, the E-Board.  An E-Board is a personal transporter based on a skateboard. The speed is usually controlled by a wireless hand-held throttle remote or rider body weight-shifting between front of the board for forward motion and rear for braking. As for the direction of travel to the right or left, it is adjusted by tilting the board to one side or the other. Electric skateboard are not considered as vehicles and do not require registration or licensing.

WHY YOU NEED TO EXPERIENCE RIDING AN E-BOARD :

It's easier than surfing and snowboarding because you don't have to learn and
understand the external environment that dictates your speed and balance.

You hold a remote in your hand to control your speed by accelerating and braking
at a pace you're comfortable with.

It's also easier than regular skateboarding or longboarding. On traditional boards,
you have to balance on one leg on a moving board and push off with your foot to
propel you forward.

On an electric skateboard you have both feet on the board at all times.

The two learning curves you will face are controlling the speed with the remote and
leaning forward, backward, and from side to side to maintain your balance and turn corners.

Don't get me wrong, electric skateboarding isn't without it's risks. Some of these new
eboards can go REALLY FAST!

If you're a beginner, please always wear appropriate protective gear. It'll save your
buttocks more than a few times and it will also give you extra confidence while learning.

SAFETY:  (
This ride is NOT your Dad's skateboard)

Many boards can reach speeds of over 20 mph, with many (including D.I.Y boards) heading
up towards 30 mph. The world's fastest electric skateboard could attained 59.55 mph. Mischo
Erban ride NEXT BOARD by NGV and set Guinness World Record in 2015 at the airport in
Potoroz, Piran, Slovenia (see video below). Although many boards have brakes, they are not as
efficient as brakes found on other personal transporters such as bicycles.

As accidents can be life altering or even fatal, personal protective equipment is higly recommended.
At a minimum, we recommend a quality helmet, elbow and knee pads, as well as padded back and
shoulder protection.
